I'm embarassed about my music taste

i’m not really sure why? usually i’ll get asked this question as a sort of icebreaker:

i don’t really know what to say to this. i think i’m supposed to say like, my favorite artist, or genre, or something. i don’t really have an answer to this. if i were answering sincerely, i would say “i like vylet pony”. but then i would have to explain which sets of genres gwen’s music encompasses, what pony music is, why this music relates to the queer and plural experience, etc. i’m not sure that’s what the question is supposed to be about.

let’s look at this in pure numbers. my most listened to songs (one per artist) on Apple Music seem to be:

this is definitely quite representitive of our music taste. though it’s not a great sample. This is probably about a few months listening, on our laptop only. we listen to most of our music on iPod, and secondly on mobile phone.
